Recap-Desert Ridge-Mountain View
September 2, 2011 by Game Previews, AZPreps365
Mesa Desert Ridge continued to execute its no-huddle offense for a second week while the new coach at Mesa Mountain View will have to wait to get his first win.
Desert Ridge quarterback Parker Rasmussen threw for 269 yards and four touchdowns while receiver Jordan Becerra ran for two scores and then caught a TD pass in the second half of the Jaguars’ 39-6 win on Friday at Mountain View.
No. 2 Desert Ridge scored on four of its first five possessions against the Toros, who are winless in their first two weeks under new head coach Chad DeGrenier. Mountain View’s offense did not get going until the second quarter and then when it put together a 78-yard drive in that period, the Toros failed to come away with any points.
Zach Davis caught two touchdown passes in the first half for Desert Ridge, which started the season routing Gilbert a week ago and seems to be picking up where it left off last year after reaching the state championship game.
Mountain View was blown out by Desert Mountain a week ago and is still reeling from its first losing season in school history last year.
