Salpointe beat Cactus 2-0 to win the 4A state softball championship in May and two of the standouts from that game were named to the 2018 MaxPreps Small Schools All-American Team on Friday, June 29.

Salpointe senior standout Yannira Acuna earned a spot on the First Team as an outfielder and Cactus junior standout Alynah Torres earned a spot on the Second Team as an infielder.

Acuna helped lead the Lancers to a 32-4 season while batting .603 with 30 extra base hits and Torres hit .540 with 15 home runs. Acuna and Torres have both committed to play for Arizona State.
