Arcadia's Helping Hands

Uniforms, meals and even a broadcast on ESPN.
These are a few things that fundraising has achieved for Arcadia High School.
The Titans use different methods to help bring in money to pay for traveling, uniforms and field maintenance.
“The main thing we do is something called a snap raise fundraiser,” said Tony Stillings, Arcadia coach. “We also use tax credit donations.”
Snap is an online fundraiser used by many high schools across the country to help raise funds for their athletic teams and their drama and art clubs as well.
The teams also get support from the fans who care most, the parents. At every Arcadia home football game, parents roam the stands, selling team shirts and other clothing and they don’t take no for an answer.
Senior football captain Luke Ashworth said, “The parents help us out the most. Without their support and perseverance, raising money and playing would be a much harder job.”
Arcadia also appreciates the technology of online donations and how much easier it has made it for the student athletes to stay focused on the classroom and on their performance on the field.
The fundraising has paid off big time for the school and the football and baseball teams specifically. Last year, the baseball team received new uniforms including three different uniform colors and two different hat colors and the football team got field renovations and an updated sound system.
In addition, the school added permanent lights to the field and is looking to get a new scoreboard.
“We are very excited about the improvements that have been made to our stadiums recently,” said Arcadia Athletic Director Cher Fesenmeier, “because of the generosity of our donors we have been able to host many crazier events including a tournament broadcast on ESPN.”
