AIA365 More Content and More Viewers

May 24, 2011 by Chuck Schmidt, AZPreps365

This spring, the AIA reached several milestones with its commitment to promote the coverage of AIA students and communities through our relationship with www.azcentral.com  and on www.AIA365.com.  The development of and coverage on www.AIA365.com as well as the relationship with www.azcentral.com have received national attention and are seen as best practice models for other state associations. Recognition and congratulations must go to Brian Bolitho, Director of Integrated Business Media, Kevin Ray, Production / Content Development Consultant and Joe Pashley of Pashley Creative for their tireless efforts in developing and improving the coverage on www.AIA365.com. In addition, we must salute the continued support from the member schools that are driving this effort.

Here some highlights for this year:

  • www.AIA365.com numbers are up over 25% from this same time last year.
  • Over 1.7 million page views on AIA365.com in 2010-2011, of which 32% were first time visitors to the site.
  • In the 2009-2010 year, AIA365.com streamed over 100 live events, including the majority of team sports championships, and the annual AIA Champions Awards luncheon.
  • In the 2010-2011 year, over 75 events were streamed in the fall season alone, with over 135 live events throughout the year.
  • The increased high school coverage on www.azcentral.com, we believe, is a direct result of our ongoing partnership, first launched in the fall of 2008, where the AIA is providing the data for the www.azcentral.com high school site. Highlights include:
    • 10.2 million between 8/1/09 and 7/31/10…
    • The same aia.azcentral.com high school section is on pace for over 12 million page views in the same time frame for 2010-2011.

We have appreciated the patience and feedback of those watching www.AIA365.com and the many observations reinforcing that we are moving in the right direction. As we look to 2011-2012, we are planning increased coverage as well as engaging students even more on www.AIA365.com.  Please watch for additional opportunities to get involved through Twitter, Facebook and the launching of V-stats.
