Going, going, gone! Baseball, softball stars in HR derby

"=""> The top hitters in baseball and softball from the Black Canyon and Western Sky regions will gather at Phoenix Greenway High on Wednesday night (May 4) at 7 for a home-run derby contest.
"=""> Each of the 13 schools will bring one baseball and one softball player. Participants will wear their uniforms. Trophies will be awarded to the winners.
"=""> Each batter will get 10 outs. All swings count as an out except for home runs.
"=""> The top three players from the initial competition will advance to the championship round. If there is a tie for the top three, each batter will get five outs to break the tie. All pitches will be live-arm and can be thrown only by a team coach or player.
"=""> Western Sky Region teams – Glendale Apollo, Glendale, Glendale Independence, Phoenix Moon Valley, Prescott, Phoenix Shadow Mountain, Phoenix Sunnyslope.
"=""> Black Canyon Region teams – Glendale Cactus, Phoenix Cortez, Phoenix Greenway, Phoenix Paradise Valley, Phoenix Thunderbird, Phoenix Washington.
