For Scottsdale Christian grandmother, all is not lost

The baseball team from Phoenix Scottsdale Christian Academy had a rough day on Tuesday (April 12), falling to host Phoenix Bourgade Catholic 8-1.
That didn’t stop the grandmother of SCA’s Brad Winsbury from leaving with a big smile on her face.
Winsbury’s home run to lead off the fourth inning was the team’s only run. A female supporter of the team actually walked all the way out beyond the fence to retrieve the ball and presented it to the grandmother.
What made it even more memorable was that the grandmother was visiting from out of state.
“This made the flight worthwhile,’’ she said.
It’s these kinds of stories that make watching high school sports worthwhile.
