A 100-degree day greeted paricipants of the Division I and Division II state track meet on Wednesday (May 4) at Mesa Community College. Several champions were crowned with the rest to be determined on Saturday (May 7). Temperatures are expected to drop 20-25 degrees for Saturday's action. DIVISION I

NOTES: Hamilton pole vaulter Connor Stevens won the D-I title for the third successive year, reaching the 17-foot mark. Desert Vista thrower Torrey Hickel made it two in a row in the shot put. St. Mary's high jumper Quintella Johnson won back-to-back in her event. She won in D-III last year. Chandler's Jai Gruenwald also repeated in the long jump
