Arcadia coach Jason Foster continues to remind his team before each game its opponent is capable of beating the Titans. That refrain may be getting old, but complacency has yet to creep in.

Arcadia continued to plague its opposition -- Thursday that meant Cactus Shadows -- as the Titans posted a 10-0, six-inning win in a Division II game at Arcadia. Arcadia, No. 4 in the D-II power-rankings, has won 16 games in a row and sports a 23-3 record overall, 12-0 in power-ranking contests. The Titans are one of two D-II teams yet to lose a power-ranking game. The other is No. 1 Ironwood Ridge (12-0). Ironwood Ridge also won on Thursday, beating Salpointe, 8-4. During its massive win streak, Arcadia has outscored its opponents 185-5. Arcadia is surrounded in the top-five of the D-II rankikngs by Tucson schools -- #2 Canyon del Oro, #3 Salpointe, and #5 Sahuaro.

Arcadia's prowess starts in the circle with senior pitcher Emily Ingles. Ingles, who missed last season with a back injury, has been virtually untouchable. She added to her gaudy stats Thursday with one-hitter that included 16 strikeouts. The lone hit was a clean double to left by Cactus Shadows Skyler Cordova to leadoff the fourth. Ingles pitched to the minimum 18 batters in six innings.

For the years Ingles owns a 0.52 earned-run average and has allowed nine hits in 119 2/3 innings. She has 230 strikeouts and thrown four no-hitters.

"We didn't have her last year because of the injury," Foster said. "I think I can say she has been dominant. Along with that our lineup has hit 1 through 9. Everything has gone pretty well.  We had some losses early, and learned from those."

In Thursday's victory, eight of nine starters had at least one hit and the player who did not walked twice. Kelly Flynn led the Titans with three hits and drove in three runs. Cleanup hitter Morgan Ash added two hits and drove in two runs. For the long-ball enthusiasts,  Ari Abalos clubbed a two-run homer in the fifth inning. Arcadia collected 13 hits off two pitchers. Arcadia's first five hitters are sophomores and led by speedy lefty, leadoff hitter Haley Denning. Denning was 2-4 Thursday and saw her average drop from .737 to .721. Only one other senior started Thursday besides Ingles.

With ingles mowing down the bulk of the hitters via Ks, is Foster worried his defense might be stale when and  (if) a few more balls are put in play.

"We work on defense," Foster said. "I'm confident we can flash the leather. We haven't had to very often."

The only outs other than Ks vs. Cactus Shadows (9-10, 6-3 prg) were a foul out to catcher Mae Forshey and Forshey throwing out Cordova trying to steal third after her double.

Arcadia leads Section III of D-II with a 5-0 record and has five section games remaining. Perhaps its three toughest games remaining are the final three -- Mesquite, Salpointe and Westwood.
