The days of practicing on grass and dirt or at a neighboring school are over for Seton Catholic’s track and field teams.

The 62-year-old school installed an all-weather surface, pole vault and long jump areas and a high jump pad for the 2015-16 track and field season. Seton assistant coach Bill Nowak and donors contributed the funding that helped give Seton’s track and field teams a first-class track and field home.

The school’s first ever home meet will be held Wednesday from 4-6:30 p.m. against Arcadia and Marcos de Niza. Seton Catholic has produced some talented track and field athletes such as the reigning Division III 400-meter champ, U.S. Air Force Academy-bound Luke Zuluaga, despite competing just on the road in the past.

But that will no longer be the case.
