No. 24 Hamilton (Chandler, Ariz.) at No. 20 Chandler (Ariz.)
Friday, 7 p.m. Mountain time
Why it's big: The lone meeting between Xcellent 25 teams this week is the annual grudge match between crosstown rivals.
A win would give Hamilton (9-0) its first unbeaten regular season since 2011. The Huskies want to regain the upper hand in a series it once dominated. Hamilton was 12-0 against Chandler from 2004-12 but has since lost three of four games against the Wolves.
Chandler (8-1) has won seven straight after losing to top-ranked Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas) on Aug. 29. The Wolves beat state-ranked Brophy Prep (Phoenix), 28-6, last week but lost standout receiver N'Keal Harry to an ankle injury. The four-star senior is expected to miss Friday's game against Hamilton.
Names to watch: Although Harry is probably out, Chandler running back Chase Lucas should be back at near 100 percent this week. The four-star senior has played sparingly this season after spraining a knee against Bishop Gorman.
Hamilton quarterback Travis Lockhart lacks the overall physical package Division I recruiters typically want from a pro-style passer, but the 6-foot-1, 185-pound senior has lit up the stat sheet this season. He has 2,154 passing yards — the 15th best total in Arizona this season — with 25 touchdowns and only four interceptions.
