CROSS COUNTRY: Current top 10 runners
September 16, 2015 by Andy Morales, AZPreps365
A pair of junior runners are currently at the top of the Cross Country list. Sierra Vista Buena standout Manuel Olivo-Quinones and Rio Rico two-time state champion Allie Schadler are safely ahead of the pack.
Olivo-Quinones and Schadler were both victorious at Marana Mountain View Desert Solstice last Friday night. Schadler's time of 17:58.8 at the race put her best time almost a full minute ahead of Flagstaff senior Courtney Lewis (18:52.9).
Olivo-Quinones recorded his best time of 15:39.1 in early September at the Sue Fletcher Invitational.
The various Sectional Meets will be held on either Friday, Oct. 30 or Saturday, Oct. 31. The top 50 percent of the teams will qualify for state along with the top 25 individual runners. However, if all 25 runners (or fewer) are attached to a qualifying team then the individual qualifier list will be reduced.
