Southlake Carroll remains in the No. 2 spot after improving to 11-0 on the season.

Six teams fell from MaxPreps Xcellent 25 rankings after just one week. The top three teams, however, didn't change.

St. James (Lenexa, Kan.) held onto the top spot after opening the season with a win over Northwest (Olathe, Kan.). St. James lost the first set, but won the next two. In going 47-0 in 2013, the Thunder lost only one set the entire season.

St. James has now won 57 in a row.

Second-ranked Carroll (Southlake, Texas) improved to 11-0 and has outscored its foes, 23-3.

And No. 3-ranked Dike-New Hartford (Dike, Iowa) opens its season on Thursday, then travels to No. 1 St. James on Saturday.

St. Francis (Wheaton, Ill.) opened with a 2-0 win over Marian Central Catholic (Woodstock, Ill.) and moved from No. 6 to No. 4 as Notre Dame Prep (Pontiac, Mich.) lost after opening with nine straight wins and fell to No. 22.

Other Top 10 movement includes Mercy (Louisville, Ky.) moving up three spots to No. 6 and perennial national power Assumption (Louisville, Ky.) opening with five straight wins and moving to No. 9.

Mercy faces Assumption on Monday.

California schools No. 5 LaSalle (Pasadena), and No. 7 Redondo Union (Redondo Beach) have yet to play.

Unbeaten Punahou (Honolulu) rounds out the Top 10.

New to the Top 25 this week are Roncalli (Indianapolis) at No. 11, No. 16 Sequoyah (Canton, Ga.), No. 17 Winter Springs (Fla.), No. 18 St. Ursula Academy (Toledo, Ohio), No. 19 Siegel (Murfreesboro, Tenn.) and No. 21 Padua Franciscan (Parma, Ohio).

Roncalli (7-0) swept through the Yorktown invitational and knocked off two previously-ranked Top 25 teams in the process.

Siegel is off to a 16-0 start, including a 3-2 win over reigning 3A state champion and 12-1 Brentwood (Tenn.).

Sequoyah, which knocked off previously unbeaten Marist (Atlanta), is 13-0 and has yet to lose a set this season.
