Long-time Phoenix Xavier Prep golf coach and athletic director Sister Lynn Winsor was inducted into the National High School Coaches Hall of Fame on Tuesday (June 25) in Des Moines, Iowa.
Winsor, the coach of the Gators for 39 years, has won 30 state championships, including 16 in a row. She won her 400th career dual match last season and had 403 wins overall with only 25 losses.
She has coached such noteworthy players as the late Heather Farr, Grace Park, Kimberly Kim and Amanda Blumenhurst.
“In my 39 years of coaching golf at Xavier, it has been an honor to follow the school’s mission and to coach more than 150 talented, generous and dedicated young women,’’ Winsor said in a news release.
