Football players and coaches at Buckeye Verrado are hoping to maintain momentum gained from three solid weeks of spring practice into some successful work in summer passing leagues.
“Spring football was extremely well-attended with over 100 athletes during the three weeks in May,’’ said Verrado coach Derek Wahlstrom.
“We were able to install our new defense under new defensive coordinator Tom Ward as well as re-install our offensive schemes. Our athletes worked extremely hard and made excellent progress.’’
The Vipers have competed/will compete in the following passing competition:
Nike 7 on 7 at Mesa Mountain View; Universal Athletics 7 on 7 and Big Man Challenge at Surprise Willow Canyon; Arizona Football Coaches Association 7 on 7 and Big Man Challenge at Surprise Stadium; NFLHSPD 7 on 7 and Big Man Challenge at University of Phoenix Stadium, Glendale.
The team’s preseason camp will be held in July at Williams High in northern Arizona.
