Winner of the state’s inaugural sand volleyball championship in 2012, Phoenix Xavier Prep goes for its second title in a row on Tuesday (April 9) and Wednesday (April 10) at the eight-team state tournament at the VictoryLane Sports Complex in Glendale.

Top-seeded Xavier opens play Tuesday (all matches at 3 p.m.) against No. 8 seed El Mirage Dysart.

Other matches are No. 5 Scottsdale Prep vs. No. 4 Phoenix St. Mary’s, No. 6 Phoenix North Pointe Prep vs. No. 3 Surprise Valley Vista and No. 7 Phoenix Christian vs. No. 2 Fountain Hills.

Semifinals are Wednesday at 2 p.m., with the championship match set for 4 p.m.
