Former Arizona prep baseball stars in spring home stretch

One month ago today, on Feb. 25, I mentioned a list of former Arizona high school baseball players in major-league spring-training camps here in Arizona.
Well, season openers are next week and there only are a handful of spring games left.
Here is a quick look at what our Arizona guys have been up to . . . be careful, the numbers could change right before your very eyes.
*Peter Bourjos, OF, Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, from Scottsdale Notre Dame Prep . . . .333 average, 2 home runs, 10 RBIs, 4 triples.
*Charles Brewer, RHP, Arizona Diamondbacks, from Scottsdale Chaparral . . . has been optioned to Triple-A Reno, but it probably won’t be very long before you see him at Chase Field.
*Kole Calhoun, OF, Angels, from Buckeye High . . . .211, 1 homer, 10 RBIs, 4 doubles.
*Jaff Decker, OF, San Diego Padres, from Peoria Sunrise Mountain . . . .175, one homer, 5 RBIs, 3 doubles.
*Andre Ethier, OF, Los Angeles Dodgers, from Phoenix St. Mary’s . . . .333, one homer, 6 RBIs, 5 doubles, 3 triples.
*Scott Hairston, UTIL, Chicago Cubs, from Tucson Canyon del Oro . . . .160, three homers, 4 RBIs.
*Ian Kinsler, 2B, Texas Rangers, from Canyon del Oro . . . .226, one homer, 9 RBIs, 4 doubles.
*Eric Sogard, INF, Oakland A’s, Phoenix Thunderbird . . . .525, one homer, 10 RBIs, 7 doubles, 3 triples.
