Arizona crew gives AIA 100th coin to Steelers chairman

The boys are back in town, and carry a lot of lasting memories with them.
The Arizona high school officiating crew led by Don Cerimeli, profiled on AIA365.com in late August, worked two high school games in the Global Ireland Football Tournament (GIFT) in Dublin, Ireland, and assisted with the college game between Notre Dame and Navy.
Two schools from Arizona, Scottsdale Notre Dame Prep and Chandler Hamilton, participated, although Cerimeli’s crew did not work those games.
The crew included Dean Cerimeli, Mike Chase, Scott Williams, Tyler Cerimeli, Paul Hunting and Russell Yurk.
The crew got to meet Pittsburgh Steelers Chairman Dan Rooney, the U.S. Ambassador to Ireland, and presented him with a coin commemorating the Arizona Interscholastic Association’s 100th anniversary in 2013.
The Steelers have had a handful of players from Arizona high schools on their roster – Cecil (Lee) Mulleneaux of Phoenix Union, Bob Kohrs of Phoenix Brophy Prep and Todd Kalis of Phoenix Thunderbird.
Said Don Cerimeli: “This was a real honor for me and our crew.’’
Maybe Mr. Rooney will exchange the Steelers’ sixth Lombardi Trophy, won with a last-second play against the Arizona Cardinals in the 2009 Super Bowl.
Hey, just a thought.
