Catalina Foothills over Buena 9-0
March 21, 2024 by Andy Morales, AZPreps365
No. 8 Catalina Foothills beat No. 22 Buena 9-0 on Thursday to improve to 4-1 on the year, including an opening loss to Division I power, and top-ranked, Brophy (8-0). That 5-4 setback was only the second loss for the Falcons dating back to the end of the 2013 season. The Falcons now have an incredible 136-2 record in that time frame and the program is expected to compete for another championship, which would be a record ten in a row and 18th overall. Brophy has 22 team titles.
Buena is now 2-2 on the year and the Colts begin section play at No. 50 Cholla (2-3) on March 26. The Falcons will also start section play next but not until April 2 when the program hosts No. 2 Salpointe (4-0).
The Falcons’ top player, Austin Cohen, has a minor toe injury so he missed the match on Thursday with Buena.
