Former Chandler standout Stefana Jelacic took second place at the 2020 Division I, Section I tournament as a senior and she went on to lose her first two bouts in the 113-pound division of the state tournament held in Prescott Valley. This year, Sunnyside senior Audrey Jimenez became the first girl to place first in a boy's section tournament to qualify for state.

Jimenez won state championships in 2021, 2022 and 2023 in the girl’s tournaments and she is attempting to go for her fourth, but this time on the boy’s side in the 106 weight class. She will be the only one at state, boy or girl, competing for a fourth state title.

In addition, Desert Vista sophomore Everest Leydecker took second place in 120 pound division at the Division I sectional held at Desert Vista.
