This game might be the game of the week across all Arizona football. Your #2 ranked Valley Christian Trojans are facing off against the #7 ranked Thatcher Eagles. This game has a lot of meaning for both teams, and each team has a reason to have a chip on their shoulder. Your Trojans are ready to face the Eagles again because it has been one year since the Eagles knocked the Trojans out of the playoffs in the quarterfinals. The Thatcher Eagles are ready to show that the game against the Trojans on September 1st was a fluke. On that night, the Trojans stopped the Eagles on the 1-yard line as time expired to clinch the victory 15-14.
Senior Aidan Richards comments about what this game means to the Trojans, “This game is very important to the team as they knocked us out of the playoffs, so we have a chip on our shoulder. Also, Thatcher has a reputation of knocking Valley Christian out of the playoffs, so we want to change the narrative.”
Isaiah Anderson talks about how Thatcher will play. “We know what brand of football they play, so we are ready for what they are going to do. They are going to try and out-physical us, but we must stand strong and play our brand of football, and the game will be in our favor.”
This is a game you do not want to miss. Kickoff is at 7PM on Thursday, November 9th at Benson Field. Tickets must be required to be able to enter. The theme for the game will be a blackout, and make sure to be loud.
GO TROJANS!
