For Barry Sollenberger and Skip Bryant, high school track and field ran neck and neck with high school football in terms of popularity.

I am reminded of that with the staging of the state track and field championships this week.

Our two late friends, Barry, long-time prep sports historian and Skip, long-time sports writer, would analyze every number, know just about every little detail regarding just about every athlete. Barry, in fact, was a track athlete at Phoenix Arcadia.

They will have the best seats in the house for these meets and would undoubtedly wish, as we do, best of luck to everyone.
