Teams learn to adjust without injured key players

Some of football’s top teams will be missing some key players down the stretch, and in some cases, into the playoffs.
Phoenix North Canyon quarterback Dominic Portocarrero is the latest casualty, breaking his thumb/hand a few weeks ago. The senior has been the starter for virtually every game in his varsity career that includes his freshman season. That makes this even tougher.
Chandler High and Laveen Betty H. Fairfax have had to adjust to the losses of running back Oshae Hatcher (knee) and defensive end Reggie Gilbert (broken foot), respectively.
There likely are numerous other teams facing the same problem.
To the injured – hope you heal quickly. To those replacing them – good luck.
