Rio Rico standout Jorge Trujillo wins the Los Mezquites Invitational

Rio Rico standout Jorge Trujillo took second place to Mingus Union standout Cesar Diaz at the Division II state championships last year and the senior is back this fall with a dominating win at the 30th Annual Los Mezquites Invitational hosted by Sunnyside.
Trujillo came in with a time of 17:54.1 to hold off Flowing Wells standout Adrian Ureta who came in with a time of 18:23.3. As a team, Rincon/University came in first with a score of 87 and Flowing Wells took second with 99.
Rio Rico High School will host all of the Southern Arizona section meets on Nov. 2 and the state meet for all levels will be held on Nov. 12 at the Cave Creek Golf Course in Phoenix.
