Notre Dame Prep bulldozes Ironwood, 50-0

Trap game maybe?
Absolutely not.
Notre Dame Preparatory bulldozed past the Ironwood Eagles, 50-0.
Improving to 2-0, the Saints have outscored Horizon Huskies and Ironwood by a combined 71 points.
The Saints left no doubt from the moment Thursday's home game started.
Notre Dame Prep didn’t start the game with the ball, but it took only five minutes and three seconds for it to score the first points of the night when quarterback Noah Trigueros exploded down the middle for a 52-yard touchdown run.
As the fans started to erupt louder and louder, the more color powder swarmed the air, which is a celebratory stadium effect after the Saints score a touchdown.
After the first quarter, the Saints was up 28-0.
The offense was absolutely dynamite. Trigueros completed 13 of 19 passes and scored six touchdowns with five in the air.
Wide receiver Cooper Perry went for over 120 yards and repeated his last week’s touchdown total with four touchdown catches.
Trigueros is very appreciative of playing alongside Perry.
“It’s nice. You know?” Triguero said, quietly chuckling, “Anytime you have an explosive player. He’s gonna help out his teammates.”
It was incredibly rare to find a moment where the offense wasn’t humming.
If one blinked, that person would miss a big play in the air, whether it was Perry or Hudson Stych, who had a 57-yard touchdown catch.
The running attack was incredibly effective as well with Brady Meyer running for over 60 yards and a touchdown.
“Our line has stepped up," Perry said. "Running the ball is very effective. When we throw the ball, it’s working. So hopefully that scares (teams).”
As impressive as the offense was, the defense was equally eye popping.
The unit caused an early interception seven minutes into the game, quickly leading to a 22-yard touchdown pass from Trigueros, who lobbed the ball in the end zone over the head of multiple defenders only for Perry to snag it with little space like NFL receiver Julio Jones.
Notre Dame Prep middle linebacker Matthew Dixon forced a safety with only 71 seconds remaining in the first half. All night, the defense forced endless pressure on the 6-foot-6 Eagles quarterback Connor Monahan.
“That quarterback was quick, he’s a big quarterback, he could roll out, so it was really important for our line to execute and get after the quarterback,” said Saints defensive end Ben Roberts, who had multiple sacks Friday.
The pressure on the quarterback was the theme of the entire night for the Saints as it was incredibly rare to see Monahan have time before being suddenly ambushed by a swarm of Saints defenders.
Despite winning by a massive margin and some incredible performances from multiple Saints players, there was no sense of over celebration, but a sense of the desire for improvement:
"I need do a better job of just reading the field and taking the easy play and not going for the big play all the time,” Trigueros said.
This mindset to continue seeking growth was also an evident approach for Saints head coach George Prelock.
“There’s always something to build off," he said. "The personal fous. They’re hustle plays. I get it, but we gotta be smart. The difference between a hustle play and being a little overly aggressive. That’s something that’s gotta be cleaned up. You can always improve week-to-week.”
