The Canyon View girls varsity basketball team beat Desert Edge High School by a score of 60-31 to improve to 6-0 on the season.

Senior Taylor Jacobs opened the game by sending the tip-off into Jaguar territory, which led to quick score and a 2-0 lead. Junior guard Ella Seymour made the first three-pointer of the game, to make the score 9-0.

To open up the second quarter, junior Avery Spickler made a basket to extend the Jaguar lead to 20. Avery Spcikler then made both of her free throws to end the first half as Canyon View led 31-13.

"This was a really good game, everyone worked together and the energy was very high. It was a good chance to give the girls experience, playing time, and the opportunity in general," assistant coach Alan Ursic said.

Seymour opened up the second half by making another three-pointer, bringing the score to 34-13. Throughout the remainder of the third quarter, Taylor Jacobs made a total of five baskets and one free throw to help pace the Jaguars.

"We got a little flat right before halftime, but we came back out and got back on our A-game," Taylor Jacobs said.

The Lady Jags finished their game with a 60-31 victory. Canyon View has three upcoming games in the next week. They are at home on December 7th and 9th, and are away on December 10th.
