The list of quality football players from Arizona headed to four-year colleges seems to be growing each year.
Many of them will be putting their signatures on letters-of-intent at 9 a.m. on Wednesday (Feb. 1) at Majerle’s Sports Grill in Chandler, in what is developing into a must-see event.
This year’s signing party will be streamed live on AIA365.com.
Not all recruits will be in attendance, but some of the top players from Phoenix, the southwest Valley, northwest Valley and northern Arizona likely will be there.
According to Richard Obert of The Arizona Republic/azcentral.com, here are some of the top players from those areas . . .
Republic Big Schools Player of the Year D.J. Foster, DB-RB, Scottsdale Saguaro (Arizona State), Republic Small Schools Player of the Year Casey Jahn, RB, Phoenix Northwest Christian (Northern Arizona), Jamar Allah, DB, Phoenix North Canyon (Arizona), Trae Armstrong, RB, Glendale Deer Valley (Idaho), Denzell Dotson, OL, Glendale Cactus (Washington State), Zach Hoffpauir, DB, Peoria Centennial (California), Dwight Melvin, DL, Laveen Betty H. Fairfax (Arizona), Jack York, C, Scottsdale Notre Dame Prep (Penn), Josh Weeks, WR, Show Low (Brigham Young), Cody Ippolito, LB, Scottsdale Chaparral (Arizona).
There always are a few surprises, too.
