The Canyon View girls volleyball went up against the Verrado Vipers at home. They played hard and had some good runs, but Verrado secured the win in three sets.
“Started a little slow, but we came back in the second match, fixed some errors and attempted to set a position to win,” Coach Mike Lopez stated.
In the first set, Canyon View's Cambrie Harper defended well at the net to keep the score close. The Vipers went up 13-10 and held on for the win.
During the second set, Skylar McWhorter put the Jags in the lead by a score of 5-4. Zariah Brown-Gibson saved the ball from a Verrado spike and Natalie Pellistri scored furthering the lead 8-6.
“It was way more competitive than our other games, but we had a drive to be here and do our best,” Harper said.
Verrado went on to win the third set. The Jaguars will take on Kellis High School later the week and welcome La Joya to campus on Tuesday, September 28.
