Six was the lucky number tonight for the Arcadia Titans as a six-point run in the fourth set capped off the Titans' 3-1 win over Canyon View High School.

Both teams battled hard in the fourth set, as the Jaguars were looking to bounce back and tie the match while the Titans, despite losing set three, were looking to put this match away. In the fourth, both teams battled to a stalemate tied at 10, then a 6-0 run by the Titans blew this game open and proved too much for the Jaguars. Arcadia eventually won the set 25-14 and the match 3-1.

Arcadia head coach Jackie Bunker also added what helped spark the 6-0 run was their serving, as she felt as though once her servers were calm and collected, the set felt smoother.

Arcadia dominated most of the night winning the first two sets taking the first set by a score of 25-13 and the second set 25-17. But Canyon View showed grit and determination, winning the third set and carrying hot momentum into the fourth.

Middle Hitter Ally Bolden was sensational, elevating her game in each set and continued to dominate throughout the game, leading the team with 10 kills and 5 blocks.

“What’s great about Ally is that she is never satisfied," Bunker said. "People who watch her see her amazing performance and afterwards or in between sets she elevates her game more.”

Bolden stole the show all game with her athletic plays, making tons of plays and being a solid leader throughout the game.

"I always look for the block first, look for an area where it’s empty, look for tips or determine how I wanna hit the ball,” Bolden said. 

Canyon View head coach Stephanie Parker said, “In set three we were determined to get them out of system — they're tough.”

Parker added that speed was something that they can take away from this game to get more wins. Ylame Dsamou, freshman setter for the Jaguars, played phenomenal, and Parker called her "a sponge" because of how much she soaks up information and continues to get better. 

Arcadia, fresh off a loss to the Horizon Huskies, bounced back and took the steering wheel and drove off to the finish line. The Titans will look to continue winning as they get ready to play Horizon once again on Thursday.

Canyon View will look to bounce back against the Verrado Vipers on Wednesday.
