Micah Goheen is a journalism student at Gilbert Christian High School assigned to cover high school sports for AZPreps365.com

Ms. Storey is the head Athletic Trainer and the Sports Medicine teacher for Gilbert Christian High School. This is Ms. Storey’s sixth year as the athletic trainer and her fourth year teaching at GCHS. She attended the University of South Florida for her undergraduate degree where she received a B.S. in Athletic Training. She will be graduating this May with her Masters in Educational Administration from Grand Canyon University. 

She teaches Sports Medicine 1 and 2 Gilbert Christian High School and serves as an internship supervisor for select senior students. She loves helping others and that's why she serves as an Athletic Trainer. “Helping and caring for others is a passion of mine. Nothing brings me more joy than watching a student-athlete return to their sport after recovering from an injury or illness. I love being able to celebrate their success with them and help them achieve the goals they have set for themselves,” states Ms. Storey.

 I asked Ms. Storey what her favorite athletic team at the school is and she said, “Honestly, I do not have a favorite sports team at the school. Whenever anyone asks, I explain that I enjoy different things about each team. I care deeply for each team and enjoy spending time watching them do what they are passionate about. Those teams that include me in things and want me at their practices and games make me love my job even more. I have relationships with each team and am looking forward to watching each student-athlete both in the regular season and into the playoffs,” Ms. Storey responded.

Ms. Storey is a great Athletic trainer; and she loves what she does, which makes her an even better person.
