Ramzee Miller is a senior captain of the Gilbert Christian Varsity Dance Team. COVID-19 affected the dance team this season, but they made the best out of it. Although they do not have any competitions or student fans allowed at games, they still enjoy cheering for the basketball team. Ramzee’s favorite part about winter sports is basketball because she likes it better than football and just enjoys basketball much better.
Ramzee says, “The dance team works really well together and I’m grateful to be super close to my coach.” The Gilbert Christian dance team is having a great season even with COVID-19.
Ramzee’s favorite part about being a captain is being able to teach the girls and them looking up to her. Ramzee and her team practice at a dance studio where they rehearse dances and cheers to perform at games during halftime.
Ramzee has done cheerleading three years of high school at Gilbert Christian and when she was in middle school, which makes her the perfect fit to be a captain. She is a very positive influence for the girls, for her dance team and loves to see them have fun at practice.
Ramzee teaches her team to work hard and stay dedicated. She thinks a good teammate is someone who looks out for their teammates and exhibits care and dedication towards one another. As a leader of the dance team, Ramzee has learned that not everything goes as planned and that is okay. Adaptability, encouragement, and resilience are key concepts to keep in mind at all times.
