The Spiritline State Qualifiers for Partner Stunt, Coed Cheer, All Girl Stunt and Show Cheer are now finalized after various competitions held on Saturday Jan. 23 and Saturday 30. 57 teams from Divisions I, II, II and IV will advance to the state championships scheduled for March 6.

The state qualifiers for Pom, Open Jazz and Open Hp Hop are slated for Saturday, Feb. 6 at Poston Butte.

The state championships for Game Day competition took place on Dec. 12 at Chaparral with Chaparral taking the D-I title, Combs won D-II, Sahuarita won D-III and Globe won D-IV.

Amphitheater took first place in the D-III/IV Partner Stunt Division which turned out to be a remarkable accomplishment beyond the obviously difficult competition itself.

“We just got cleared for contact and started practicing five days ago,” Amphitheater head coach Kayla Jordan wrote. “No matter how many times this team was told “no” or “sorry you have to wait” they never gave up. We came out with a first place at AIA qualifiers and qualification to state! Also a huge thank you to the AIA spirit committee for running such a safe and great event! We feel blessed.”
