Anisa Valenzuela attends Canyon View High School and is a member of the AIA's Student SID program.

The Canyon View's boys varsity basketball team defeated Lake Havasu 92-33 at Jaguar Arena on Thursday. Tonight's game was the varsity basketball team's first ever home game. 

Juniors Dante Marshall and Darien Hayes both scored 19 points to lead Canyon View.

“We executed, we definitely needed a comeback game, still some things to work on but first home game, first win,” coach Adrian Orona said.  

The Jags led 13-0 early and finished the first quarter up 26-5. Canyon View was still in the lead through the 2nd quarter and finished the first half up 52-15. 

“I thought the game was great, we played like a team. It was a good bounce back game,” junior Logan Abreu said.
