The most significant winter sports tournament of the week, the Glendale Union High School District Boys Soccer Shootout, begins Monday (Dec. 19) and runs through Thursday (Dec. 22).

There are three pool games at three sites on Monday.

At Glendale Apollo – Phoenix Greenway vs. Glendale Apollo, 3:30 p.m.; Apollo vs. Glendale, 5:15 p.m.; Greenway vs. Glendale, 7 p.m.

At Phoenix Cortez – Phoenix Thunderbird vs. Phoenix Cortez, 3:30 p.m.; Cortez vs. Phoenix Moon Valley, 5:15 p.m.; Thunderbird vs. Moon Valley, 7 p.m.

At Phoenix Washington – Glendale Independence vs. Phoenix Washington, 3:30 p.m.; Washington vs. Phoenix Sunnyslope, 5:15 p.m.; Independence vs. Sunnyslope, 7 p.m.

Bracket play begins Tuesday at Apollo, continues Wednesday at Apollo  and Washington, with the third-place and championship games at 4 p.m. and 6 p.m., respectively, on Thursday at Glendale High.
