Varsity volleyball players Addisyn Mayfield and Haily Vaught explained to me how things have changed as a result of COVID-19.

The coronavirus affects how the team practices. “We can no longer shake hands and are required to wear masks on the bench,” Vaught said.

The same applies to games. Players must be careful not to touch one another and are required to wear masks when sitting on the bench. One of their games was even canceled because of the coronavirus.

Fans are still able to come and support the team, however, occupancy is limited and everyone must have a mask on.

Despite all that has changed this year, Mayfield and Vaught both feel their coaches have done a great job. “They lead the team well,” Mayfield said, “We have still been able to come together and play our best.”

Overall, this year's volleyball team has continued to work hard and excel in all that they do, even amidst a worldwide pandemic.
