Golf results of note Sept. 8-10

Invitational play came to Laveen Thursday at the Aguila Girls Open at Aguila Golf Course. Arcadia nabbed team honors in the nine-team event, finishing at 331 for the 18-hole tourney.
Medalist honors went to Salpointe Catholic junior Mackenzie McRee with a 5-over par 77. Lancers teammate Susie Gietl was second with a 79 followed by an Arcadia trio of Anya Kleinlein and Ella Crowson with 80s and Karen Rea 82. Corona del Sol's top finisher in sixth place was Ashlyn Carpenter (85. Following Arcadia in team standings was runner-up Corona del Sol (346) and third-place Salpointe (351).
CHANDLER GIRLS CITY MEET
It was Hamilton's girls in a runaway on Tuesday at the annual Chandler City Championship at Ironwood Golf Course.
The Lady Huskies easily outdistance their four sister schools with a winning team score of 23-over par 291. Earning medalist honors was Hamilton sophomore Jennifer Seo with a one-over par 68. Perry finished second (326) and Casteel (328) was third followed by Chandler and Basha.
Top finishers after Seo were Perry's Malia Uyeshiro and Hamilton's Kylie Franklin with 70s, Hamilton's Madeline Adam (73), Casteel's Kaylin Johnson (76) and Perry's Kylie Rehberger (78).
Two invitationals are on Friday's schedule. The boys half of the Aguila Invitational features nine teams in a one-day, 18-hole event. First tee times are at 7:30. The Mesa City Girls Championship convenes at noon at Viewpoint Golf Resort in Mesa.
