The 2A North Region Region Volleyball Tournament begins today at four different sites and eight schools.

First round matches are played at the site of the high seed with winners advancing into the semofinals. After first round matches are completed, action moves to St. Johns High School gymnasium on Saturday for the Final Four and Regional Championship.

No. 1 Pinon entertains No. 8 Alchesay at 6 p.m.  Greyhills Academy, No. 4, hosts No. 5 Many Farms at 6 p.m. The Pinon-Alchesay survivor meets the winner of Greyhills Academy-Many Farms in one semifinal match at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday.

No. 3 St. Johns hosts No. 6 Valley Sanders, No. 6, at 6 p.m.  Round Valley, No. 2, entertains No. 7 Hopi at 6 p.m. Winners of first round matches advance into the tournament semifinals on Saturday. The survivor of the St. Johns-Valley Sanders match meets the winner of the Round Valley-Hopi match in the Final Four at 9 a.m.

Losers of the two semifinal matches meet for third/fourth place at 2:30 p.m. The Regional Tournament championship match is schedule for 4 p.m.

The higher seed is the designated home team. There is $5-dollar admission for all session tickets. There is $8-dollar admission for daily passes. Ages 5 and under receive free admission. Arizona Interscholastic Association passes accepted.
