Who is in and who is on the bubble concerning East Valley and Northeast Valley 6A-2A schools as the final week of the 2019 season arrives.

A quick glance by conference with designation of qualifying bracket/option:

6A - The entire Premier Region (Chandler-OD, Hamilton-OD, Brophy-6A, Perry-6A and Basha-6A). Four of six and possibly five from the Central Region are in good sted. All who qualify from the Central are 6A-bound -- Desert Ridge, Desert Vista, Highland and Queen Creek are in. Corona del Sol on the bubble and could slip in with a win over Mountain Pointe. The East Valley Region likely has only  Red Mountain-OD or 6A.The Desert Valley Region has combatants from last week --  Pinnacle-OD-6A and Chaparral-6A. 

5A - The San Tan Region will qualify four for sure and two maybe. Higley-OD or 5A, Williams Field-5A, Campo Verde-5A and Casteel-5A. Gilbert and Maricopa meet this week with the winner having a good chance to qualify and the loser perhaps missing out. From the Northeast Valley Region, Notre Dame Prep-OD/5A is in and McClintock-5A is in solid shape. Cactus Shadows-5A is on the bubble with a match-up vs. McClintock huge for the Falcons. 

4A - The 4A Desert Sky will be well-represented. Saguaro-OD, Mesquite-4A, Marcos de Niza-4A are in. Seton Catholic is on the bubble needing a win over Poston Butte to have a shot. Close losses by Tempe (to Greenway) and Apache Junction (to Glendale) in games that decided region titles likely eliminate both from playoff consideration. Tempe has a sliver of hope, but AJ is too far down in the power-rankings to qualify. 

3A - Qualifiers regardless of result this week are American Leadership-Queen Creek, American Leadership-Gilbert North, Benjamin Franklin, Coolidge, Valley Christian and Arizona College Prep. No local bubble teams.

2A - Chandler Prep has won its region for an automatic berth. Scottsdale Prep is on the bubble as non-region champ.
