Chavez will be fighting for its playoff life against a Marcos team that is safely in the Division II playoffs. The Cesar Chavez Champions come in at (7-2) but have not been tested a whole lot this season, which is why the Champions find themselves ranked 17th and just outside the playoffs in Division II. But a win over a 7th-ranked Marcos de Niza team would certainly help their resume. The Padres also hold a (7-2) record, but Marcos de Niza played a much tougher schedule, losing to top-ranked Chaparral and defeating 10th ranked Perry. A win for Chavez could propel them into the playoffs, but a Marcos win could improve their ranking in the power points. It should be a competitive game between the two teams Friday night.
