Football: St. Johns coach Mike Morgan earns 331st career victory

St. Johns posted a 74-6 win over the Pinon Eagles, as head coach Mike Morgan earned his 331st career victory.
Morgan is 5 victories behind Arizona high school all-time winningest coach, late Paul Moro.
St. Johns junior running back Ira Tullous scored four touchdowns. Tullous returned a punt 55 yards for a score, returned a 25 yard pass interception for a touchdown, rushed for a 3 yard touchdown, and returned a 93 yard kickoff return for a touchdown.
St. Johns quarterback Ramon Sanchez threw a pair of touchdown passes. Sanchez connected with Gage Heap for a 70 yard touchdown and 28 yards to Slade Nevin for six points. Sanchez returned a 28 yard pass interception for a touchdown.
Tanner Crosby entered the end zone on a 15 yard run and returned a pass interception 19 yards for a touchdown.
Gage Tricky outran the Pinon defense for an 81 yard touchdown. Afton Cox sacked the Pinon quarterback in the end for a 2 point safety. Jacob Skousen scored on a 72 yard run.
St. Johns has a bye this Friday. St. Johns entertains nearby rival Round Valley Elks on October 4 at 7 p.m. for its next game.
WINSLOW BULLDOGS
The Winslow Bulldogs continued its winning ways, knocking off Tanque Verde, 54-6, in a freedom game.
Winslow sophomore quarterback Jace Lyons completed 2-of-4 passes for 47 yards. Bulldogs sophomore Chris Arellano caught one pass for 25 yards and one touchdown. Junior Robert Wilbanks hauled in one pass for 22 yards and one six-pointer.
Wilbanks added another touchdown. Wilbanks rushed for a 125 yards on 7 carries and one touchdown. Senior Mason Scott chalked up 181 yards on 14 rushes and two touchdowns.
Junior Aiden Kislingbury added 61 yards on 6 carries and one touchdown. Sophomore Gabe Meunier scored one touchdown from 25 yards. Junior placekicker Trevor Cavasos booted 6 PAT's.
Winslow travels to Tuba City to face the Warriors this Friday at 7 p.m.
