Highland (1-0) at Hamilton (1-0) - Hamilton opened strong thumping Chap. Highland won lightning-delayed game, 49-28

Pinnacle (1-0) at Mountain Pointe (1-0) - Big game perhaps for Open Division ranking down the road. Pinnacle won, 56-34

Corona del Sol (1-0) at Mountain Ridge (1-0) - CDS QB Quade Swearingen 301 yards passing 3 TDs in opener. Teams were 1-19 last year. Each pulled off surprising wins in openers. CDS won, 19-14

Perry (0-1) at Mesa Mountain View (0-1) - MTV's demise in opener was poor 2nd half. Perry lost to Pinnacle. Perry won, 42-7

Chandler (1-0) at Queen Creek (1-0) - Chandler ventured out of state for win. Queen Creek routed Westwood. Chandler won, 49-21

Cesar Chavez (1-0) at Red Mountain (1-0) - Defending region champs, respectively, started strong. Red Mountain won, 34-7 

Dobson (0-1) at Salpointe Catholic (0-0) - Dobson bowed in opener to Shadow Ridge, 28-7. Salpointe won, 56-7

Basha (1-0) at Sandra Day O'Connor (1-0) - Better tests for both this week. Basha won, 17-13

Boulder Creek (0-0) at Skyline (0-1) - Skyline dropped its opener to Mountain Ridge. Boulder Creek won, 23-15

Brophy Prep (1-0) at Shadow Ridge (1-0) - BCP turned tables on Liberty in opener this year, 9-6. BCP won, 38-7

Westwood (0-1) at Valley Vista (0-0) - Westwood looks for better result this week. Valley Vista won,  28-21

Desert Vista (1-0) at Notre Dame, Sherman Oaks, CA (0-0) - Aug. 31 - Desert Vista beat Palm Springs for 2nd year in a row in its opener. DV and Notre Dame did not play last year

Apollo (1-0) at Casteel (0-1) - Casteel strong showing in opening loss to Centennial. Casteel won, 60-24

Higley (0-1) at Horizon (1-0) - Higley thumped in opener by out-of-state power. Good test for both this week. Higley won, 38-31

McClintock (0-1) at Marcos de Niza (0-0) - McClintock fell in opener 33-21 to Maricopa. McClintock won, 20-6

Millennium (0-0) at Maricopa (1-0) - Maricopa faces a top-10 caliber foe this week. Millennium won, 26-21

Campo Verde (1-0) at Mesquite (1-0) - Both fared well in opening night wins. Tough intracity game. Campo Verde won, 25-22

Central (0-1) at Paradise Valley (0-0) - Paradise Valley enters season with high hopes. PV won, 50-8

Notre Dame Prep (1-0) at Sunnyslope (0-0) - NDP with solid showing in 49-6 rout of Betty Fairfax. NDP won, 41-27
